Difficulty: 1.5 out of 5
       Terrain:        2.5 out of 5

This weekend just gone, me and the other half went to visit some family in Gloucester with the intention of a nice relaxing Jubilee weekend. Little did we know that on the Monday we would make the 50 minute journey to the magnificent Tintern Abbey on the Welsh border to get involved with the Jubilee festivities going on.

The GAGB & Land Agreements

A lot of you in the UK will most probably already know about the following website, but as I am in the process of setting my own cache, I thought it might be a good time to point you in the direction of The GAGB.

Langdon Plotlands Series Pt.2

At the weekend I told you about the Langdon Plotlands series that I was hoping to complete on Sunday and while I didnt make it round to all 14 caches (Lord Summerisle's First Cache (GC2436M) was disabled at the time), the ones I did manage were brilliant.

Langdon Plotlands Series Pt.1

Today, seeing as I've not done a lot of caching lately (let alone a decent sized series), I've decided to round up the fiancee, brother in law and geodog for what looks to be a nice series over at Langdon Plotlands in Basildon, Essex.

There is a total of 14 caches in the series with Lord Summerisle's First Cache (GC2436M) as an offshoot, which, weather permitting, I am hoping to complete in one hit.

The caches themselves were actually placed by the Essex Wildlife Trust for a recent event that they held so they should hopefully be well maintained in the future as well.

So that's my afternoon planned. If you fancy giving the series a go for yourself, click the read more button to view a map with direct links to each cache page.

M.I.A

Today is a very sad day.

Today is the day i've had to mark one of my Geocoins as 'Missing'.

Earlier on in the week while doing a little check up on the status of my Geocoins, I notice that my 250 Finds coin is in a cache that had been disabled. On further investigation, I find out that the cache in question had been completely muggled and there is no trace of it whatsoever.

I decided not to do anything about it straight away. You never know, someone may have found it, Googled Geocaching, decided to get involed and then replaced it. However, as of today there has been no activity so, for the time being, it's being marked as missing.

I live in hope that one day it will return but I wont be holding my breath.

In the mean time, im considering buying another one but keeping it with me while I cache and just dip it in and out of caches as I go or maybe even just keeping it and perhaps starting up a collection.

I don't know.

All I know is that although it's a risk to send out a coin, its still depressing when one goes missing.

Souvenirs

As you may already be aware, the Geocaching website has recently been updated with a few extra features. I will cover some of these at a later date but the one that really interest me is 'Souvenirs'

When first released there was a lot of speculation as to what they are for with a lot of people complaining that the feature hadn't been explained properly. Now although there is still no formal explanation, all became a bit clearer on 10/10/10.
